Panel Modular Solution

Panel Modular Solution

This modular solution is based on the use of steel plated sandwich type rock wool wall panels which have a clear advantage over gypsum board type of construction.

These are easy to assemble, erect, dismantle, store and reuse. These wall panels have the capacity to carry directly the loads of all ceiling elements thus eliminating the need of secondary steel grid.

The majority of all the materials i.e ceiling, floor coverings, doors, windows, cables, cable trays, etc. are reusable by salvaging and avoiding the creation of excessive waste of materials. It is anticipated that there will be a significant reduction in the required man-days to erect the IBC fit out. At the end of the Games the vast majority of the materials will be loaded into ocean containers and stored for the use of the following Games.

This modular concept is a sustainable construction solution as required in a modern society and the opportunity to reuse the materials in at least two Games makes it financial advantageous.

The decision about the horizontally of the structure of the center of primary attendance wanted to distinguish the building within the urban surroundings in which it would be located, defined by the presence of blocks of houses with a height of six plants, generating in the context a dynamic balance between weave and architectonic piece.
